General Information
The Ahmadiyya Muslim
Library, situated on the upper floor of the Bait-ul-Huda Mosque.
After our recent
reorganization to its current state, we now have over 2500 books
for loan. As well as 600 titles available for sale in over 20
languages.
We also hold and
archive numerous periodical journals and newspapers, including the historic
Review of Religions, and Al-Fazl International. Feel free to inquire
about subscriptions to these and get them delivered straight to your
door!
Under our new system,
the library catalogue is computerised boasting its search capabilities.
Also, we issue membership cards to our members for loan purposes.
Fresh arrivals
The following books have recently arrived from overseas and are now available
in the Ahmadiyya Muslim Library of Australia at Masjid Bait-Ul-Huda Sydney
for the benefit of all interested readers:
- Kalame-Tahir
(Urdu): A collection of religious poems by Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad
(ra), the 4th Successor to the Promised Messiah (as).
- Saheefae-Ishq
(Urdu): A collection of poems by Mr Mubarak Ahmad Zafar.
- Taleeme-Fehme
Quran (Urdu): A book compiled by Mirza Hanif Ahmad with an in-depth
and comprehensive explanation of the Holy Quran in the Promised Messiah's
(as) own words. This book has around 1000 pages and is guaranteed to
give immense knowledge of the Holy Quran to every reader.
The Library is open
every Sunday between 12:30pm and 3pm (subject to change), so please feel
free to come in and benefit from the large range of books we have available.
Loan Policy
1. Books can only
be issued by the Librarian or other authorized persons. You must present
you membership card
2. Only library
copies marked as such will be issued for loan
3. Reference books
will not be issued and are for in library use only
4. No books will
be issued for loan during special occasions such as Jalsa Salana and
Ijtema etc., starting 2 weeks prior to the event
5. Maximum of 2
books at any one time may be issued
6. Books may be
issued for a period of 3 weeks. Books may be renewed once in person
for a further period of 3 weeks. Librarian must sight book. Books may
not be renewed if they are overdue or reserved for another borrower
7. If the books
are not returned within the loan period the following penalties will
apply:
a. Returned within
1 week after the due date, borrowing rights will be suspended for
a period of 2 weeks
b. Returned within
1 month after the due date, borrowing rights will be suspended for
a period of 1 month
c. Not returned
after 1 month after the due date, borrowing rights will be suspended
for a period of 6 months
8. If any books
are lost or damaged the following will apply:
a. Books must
be replaced within 3 months by the borrower OR
a. Cost will be payable to the library including postage and handling.
The librarian will determine total cost.
