Dear Brother,

I write to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 16 February 2005 (your ref. 727) and the cheque to the value of A$8,000 donated by your members towards the Tsunami victims in Indonesia.

The amount raised was a truly extraordinary and genuinely warm gesture by your members and I can assure you it will be well received by the survivors of this natural disaster and a courtesy that the government and people of Indonesia at large will never forget.

We have temporarily deposited the donation into the account maintained for this purpose at the Commonwealth Bank, London Circuit, Canberra, entitled "Indonesian Embassy: Indonesia Tsunami Relief Fund".

If you could pass on my deep thanks to your members I should be most grateful.

Yours sincerely
Imron Cotan

Dear Sir,

Donation for Tsunami Victims in Sri Lanka

I refer to your letter No. 726 of 16 February 2005 forwarding a cheque for A$ 8,000 being your Association's contribution to Sri Lanka's relief and recovery efforts.

We should have acknowledged the receipt of your letter and financial contribution much earlier. However, our inability to find the right words, which could convey accurately the sentiments of our deeper appreciation, and other pressing commitments have resulted in the delay.

The High Commission would like to express its gratitude to your Association and its members for this gesture of magnanimity at this most critical time. Your contribution will go a long way in assisting the affected people in their rehabilitation.

We look forward to your continued support as the country advances towards reconstruction phase.

A. L. Abdul Azeez
