On 16th of July 2015 Imam Inam-ul-Haq Kauser the National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Australia met with Cr Jean Hay, Mayor of Manly at her office. Cr Jean has served as Mayor of Manly from 1999 to 2004 and 2008 to 2012. She was re-elected as Mayor for a further four year term in 2012. Cr Jean was awarded Membership of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to the community through local government, community action and sporting groups, and fundraising for welfare and health education programmes.

During the meeting Imam Kauser briefly introduced the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to the mayor. Imam Kauser informed the mayor about a number of initiatives that the Association has taken in the last few years to promote peace and harmony in the society, and its community and humanitarian work in different parts of Australia. Imam Kauser also invited mayor and its executive council members to the Bait-ul-Huda (The House of Guidance) mosque in Blacktown where the Association regularly hosts guests and mosque visitors. The Bait-ul-Huda is one of Australia’s largest mosque complexes and also serves as the national and state headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Australia.
Imam Kauser extended the Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the mayor and presented her a small gift of chocolates as a token of Eid celebrations. Imam Kauser also presented an English translation of the Holy Quran and ‘World Crisis and the Pathway to Peace’; a collection of speeches and letters by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Khalifa of Islam, the worldwide Spiritual Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam and some community pamphlets. The meeting lasted for over an hour and the Mayor thanked Imam Kauser for taking his time out and meeting her in her office.
